Stark and striking salute to the enfant terrible of American letters. Simply designed and all the more effective for it, the monochrome photos grab the eye but don''t overwhelm the selections from Capote''s writings which were often overshadowed by his celebrity.

Capote is one of the all-time American great writers. His book ''In Cold Blood'' would put him in that category without ever having written anything else. His research is thorough and his writing is very strong--quite a contrast to his personality.

A visually stunning site which gracefully incorporates text and images. I only wish there was more content. The excerpted paragraphs only tease the viewer and there is little about Capote's life outside the message boards.

You don't have to be a Capote fan to enjoy this site. A beautiful collection of photographs of or pertaining to the author, and thoughtfully selected excerpts to accompany them. A straightforward and visually pleasing award-winning site.
