For my money (which is NONE because this site is free), this is by far the best genealogy site out there for information and queries. Folks are helpful, knowledgeable and willing to share. LDS may have more, but it''s harder to work with and no interaction.

This is a great resource. Since the database is so huge, searches almost always return hits. It''s very helpful that people who submit info can link that info to their genealogy web page so searchers can find more information.

Many types of searches. Search by Surname or birthday. A good reference point.

The thing I think I like the most is the fact that you can search through just family sites. No wasting time with sites that have the surname or location you're looking for but is someone's resume or something other than genealogy.

You can upload personal gedcoms here, also search for your family names. Remember, always check out sources on personal gedcoms, they can contain mistakes.
